With the festive season just around the corner, nobody wants to be stuck with a sniffle. So it’s vital you keep your workplace clean and minimise your risk of ruining the Christmas dinner by sneezing all over the turkey. Luckily there are a few easy things that can be done to prevent the spread of germs.
We all know the saying “Coughs and sneezes spread diseases”, so it’s vital you keep your surfaces wiped down and free of germs. A quick wipe down of your desk, keyboard, mouse and any other surfaces around your workspace will help you prevent the spread of festive flu! If your unfortunate and already have a bit a stuffy nose and find yourself needing a daily supply of tissues, remember to kill the germs you spread quick. Put dirty tissues in the bin, wash your hands and try not to cover your colleagues when you sneeze!
No matter how big your office kitchen is, it can be a breeding place for germs. Keep everything clean and tidy, mop up spills and don’t give germs a place to dwell! It’s also important to disinfect any towels and cloths used to make sure there are definitely no germs left!
Whilst Christmas is a time for sharing, people are more grateful when you aren’t sharing a snotty nose. Germs can spread quickly in an office, especially when you consider sneezes travel at approximately 100mph. If it’s possible, encourage employees to work from home if they are under the weather. Not only does this keep your healthy employees from catching a cold, but it keeps your ill employees happier and maintain their productivity levels.
